The Freedom Eagles JV Boys Soccer team (0 - 0 - 1) opened their season with a 2 -2 tie against the Manassas Park Cougars on Friday night at Freedom High School.
Manassas Park took a 1 - 0 lead off a penalty kick in the first half and carried the lead into the second half. With twenty minutes remaining in the second half, Freedom got on the scoreboard off a Michael Hernandez shot from 20 yards out. Manassas Park regained the lead with 10 minutes remaining in the game, but Darwin Jimenez tied the game yet again with a score. The Eagles almost pulled out the win with a break away in the final seconds, but couldn't convert.
Freedom plays again on Tuesday, March 23, versus the Gar-Field Indians. Game time is 5:30pm.
